Small compact car, easy in traffic, easy on the wallet, Diesel driven car. Has taken the Indian market by storm. You will find these vehicles available in every corner of the country. For luggage of more than 2 small bags you must request for a roof rack.
TATA INDIGO
Capacity: 3 to 4 Passengers
Medium-sized brother of the Indica, has a boot, has more leg room as compared to its smaller sibling, the Indica. Again it is diesel driven hence cheaper than the rest in its segment. It has a medium sized boot.
AMBASSADOR
Capacity: 3 to 4 Passengers
The old faithful, has been on the roads of India since the 50’s. A version derived from the British Morris-Oxford 1948. A favourite with foreigner visitors. Comfortable, spacious, and has the old charm of post independence. It has a large boot.
TOYOTA QUALIS
Capacity: 8 Passengers
The first workhorse from the Toyota Stable in India. Was an instant hit with tourists as it is a MUV, is capable of giving a smooth ride with good space for luggage. Luggage has to be on the roof rack if there are more than 4 passengers. It has taken over the market from the Ambassador.
TOYOTA INNOVA
Capacity: 7 Passengers
A new entrant from Toyota after the success story from the Qualis, Toyota has refined everything that the quails lacked, better leg room, better ride ability. Luggage on the roof rack.
MARUTI ESTEEM
Capacity: 3 to 4 Passengers
The first sedan by Suzuki to be introduced in India. Small sedan considered mid-sized in India. Good reliable vehicle, spares and service network is the biggest in the country. It has a medium sized boot.
FORD IKON

The small mid sized car by Ford. A good, safe, comfortable car, with decent legroom, a medium sized boot.

Capacity: 3 to 4 Passengers
The hot selling Honda Car in India. Two versions available:
- The old shape which is slightly low in seating, good visibility, good air conditioning, a car which executives prefer to travel in.
- The new shape has a bigger boot, better leg room, higher seats, more compact as compared to its older sibling. Definitely has more to give compared to the previous model.
MAHINDRA SCORPIO
Capacity: 7 Passengers
The Mahindra Scorpio is one of the many SUVs that India has fallen in love with. It’s big, it’s chunky and it’s on diesel. Has loads of road presence. This design has been an eye-catcher among SUVs and has bagged many an award for its styling.

Capacity: 7 Passengers
If big is beautiful, then the Ford Endeavour is for you. Its imposing presence will appeal to those who want a large and spacious SUV. It is practical too, thanks to its tough build and robust diesel engine. Performance is adequate at best and you often feel the need for a few more horses. The last row of seats is best for children only.
CHEVROLET TAVERA
Capacity: 8 Passengers
The Tavera comes across as a practical multi-utility vehicle. It is extremely spacious, especially in the middle row, is well-built and easy to drive. Ride and handling is impressive for an MUV and fuel efficiency is the best in class.
Capacity: 4 to 5 Passengers
The car that first turned the luxury market upside down and with good reason. Octavia looks and feels expensive, but is incredibly well priced. It's built like a vault, has bags of performance (for a diesel), and huge boot space. The diesel engine, though a touch noisy, is incredibly fuel-efficient. L&K packed with features but expensive.
HYUNDAI ACCENT
Capacity: 3 to 4 Passengers
With those nice looks and with those cosseting interiors, the Accent feels bigger than it is, and makes a plush roomy family car.
OPEL CORSA
Capacity: 4 Passengers
The Corsa offers generous passenger space, is easy to drive, has decent fuel economy and looks good too. Add competitive packaging and you have a potential winner on your hands. It does have the outright performance and high-spirited handling.

Capacity: 5 Passengers
The all-new Camry came to India within weeks of its international launch. Aggressively styled with a funky interior and a sweeter, more responsive engine, the new Camry is infinitely more exciting than the outgoing model. However, the rear seats are not as comfy as before and it is more expensive too. Like any Toyota, top-notch reliability is a given.

Capacity: 5 to 6 Passengers
Toyota Corolla offers an unparalleled motoring experience. Powered by 1.8-litre DOHC VVT-i engine, Toyota Corolla delivers a staggering power of 125 PS. The VVT-i technology allows for extra smooth acceleration, and ensures enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
Disc brakes on all four wheels, ventilated in the front and solid in the rear, provide assured braking. In addition other enhanced safety features include Anti-lock Breaking System, collapsible steering column and side door impact beams.
MITSUBISHI LANCER
Capacity: 5 Passengers
Marvellously refined, handsome and comfortable, good all-rounder in this class, with decent engines in both petrol and diesel versions and fine reliability and after-sales service. It’s drab interiors are a letdown though, and it is surprisingly ordinary on the highway.

Capacity: 5 Passengers
Mercedes has made the new E-class so good that it questions the need to opt for the larger S-class. Mercedes has managed to improve on the old model's ride quality while giving it newfound agility. It feels like a terrestrial jet that will take you to your destination in a remarkably short time and in ultimate comfort. Unmatched engineering and snob value is what you pay for.
CHEVROLET OPTRA
Capacity: 5 Passengers
The Optra has everything that appeals to Indians: smart styling, a handsome, spacious interior, plenty of goodies and refinement and a knockout price-tag. Marked up by an exciting driving experience and a firm ride it’s a great all-rounder all the same.
